Mission
To offer individually tailored resources and referrals specific to the needs of student veterans.
To provide timely and relevant information to student veterans including Veterans Affairs (VA) educational benefits as well as Tuition Assistance (TA) in partnership with the Registrar’s Office.
To enable student involvement in campus initiatives, leadership opportunities, and community service, though the advisement of the Georgia Tech Armed Forces Student Association, a recognized student organization.
To conduct outreach and education efforts in the larger Georgia Tech community to increase awareness of student veteran issues, as well as services of the Center.
To support Georgia Tech students, faculty, and staff in their efforts to influence policy and practice as it pertains to student veterans.
Director’s Role
The Veterans Resource Center director serves as the designated representative to serve military connected students.
The director provides support, information and assistance to students and staff regarding VA benefits, applications, enrollment, fees, and other applicable information. This includes assisting students in understanding and applying for military tuition assistance, federal, and state veteran educational benefits.
In addition, the director provides guidance to students with information about academic support counseling, financial aid support counseling, career counseling, disability services and other related academic services, to include referring students to other areas and offices on campus as appropriate
